Tell us what happened, why it matters to seafarers and what a reader would learn. A short, specific pitch is more useful than a finished article written to fill a page.

Stories and professional experience

We welcome thoughtful accounts of shipboard work, leadership, life ashore and changes affecting the profession. Explain your role and distinguish what you witnessed from what you heard elsewhere. Include sources for factual claims.

Community photographs

Send your best original image with a caption, the photographer’s credit, names and ranks where appropriate, and permission to publish. Images work best when they show an experience, a working environment or a community moment.

Please avoid sending confidential ship documents, private personal details or photographs that the people concerned would not expect to be published.
